Department of Heat-Power Engineering
History
Since 1995 at the Department of Marine and Power Engineering (MPE) of the Kherson branch of NUOS besides traditional speciality since 1967 "Ship Power Plants" there have been offered several new ones - "Internal Combustion Engines" first and later - "Refrigeration Machines and Units" and "Heat Power Engineering".
Due to the numerous staff of the MPE department and taking in account the fact that there were several specialities for which students were trained, a new department called Heat Power Engineering Department (Head of the Department is Ph.D., Associate Professor Konovalov D.V.) was established by the NUS Rector’s order.
Every year the staff of the Heat Power Engineering Department published about 20 articles in the professional scientific journals of Ukraine, made a lot of presentations at the international and Ukrainian scientific conferences, patented inventions and industrial designs. The department train future specialists in the field of Heat Power Engineering and Refrigeration Machines and Units. Now its graduates are working at the leading enterprises of Ukraine.

alternative and renewable energy sources;
improving heat recovery utilization of power cycles, refrigeration machines and heat pumps;
